Generated names are sample text and may match real people. They do not represent verified identities.

How to use Fake Name Generator

  1. Choose the name format

Select full names, first names, or surnames. The first version uses English name lists and does not infer nationality, age, or identity.

  2. Generate your list

Choose a quantity from 1 to 100 and generate. Each displayed name is distinct within the current batch; generating again keeps your selected settings.

  3. Copy your names

Copy one name or choose Copy all for the displayed list, with one name per line. Paste the results into your mockup, document, or test data.

About Fake Name Generator

Create English sample names for interface mockups, demonstrations, and software tests without using a customer's personal information. Choose full names, first names, or surnames, then generate 1–100 distinct results from built-in name lists. Copy a single result or all displayed names to use in your project. Generated combinations may match real people's names and are not verified identities.

Useful for

  • Populate a mockup or demo with readable names instead of customer data.
  • Prepare first-name and surname fields for a test dataset.
  • Create a small sample-name list for a spreadsheet or software import.

Before you start

  • Names come from finite English lists. Other languages, country selection, age matching, and demographic sampling are not available in this version.
  • A generated name can coincide with a real person's name. It is a sample label, not a verified or guaranteed fictional identity.
  • Each batch contains 1–100 distinct displayed names. Results can repeat across separate batches, and are not statistically representative of a population.
  • The tool generates names only; addresses, phone numbers, credentials, and complete identity profiles are outside its scope.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the names guaranteed to be fictional?

No. The tool combines common English names for samples and tests, so a result can match a real person's name. It does not verify identities or retrieve personal records.

Can I generate just first names or surnames?

Yes. Select First names or Last names before generating. Each displayed and copied result matches the format you selected.

How can I copy the generated names?

Use the Copy button beside a name for one result, or Copy all for the entire displayed list with one name per line. If clipboard access is unavailable, the tool provides selectable text for manual copying.

Can the same name appear twice?

Displayed names are unique within one generated batch. A name can appear again when you generate another batch, and first names or surnames may be shared by different full-name results.

Does the generator need an external service?

No. Generation uses name lists bundled with the website and runs in your browser. After the page resources load, names can be generated without an external generation service.
